In Greece, Orthodox countries which had adopted the Gregorian calendar, we celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25 and not on January 7 as Russia. The period of the festive season begins on Christmas Eve and the Epiphany goes up, it spreads over a period of 12 days referred to as “dozen”. Christmas in Greece is less important than the feast of Easter.
