Sean Taylor of the Redskins died after suffering from a shot
PALMETTO BAY, Florida-half Safety Sean Taylor, Washington Redskins, died early Tuesday morning after being reached on the eve of a shot in what police described as an intrusion of residence. He was 24 years old
A family friend, Richard Sharpstein, revealed that the father of Taylor told the sad news to 5:30.
“His father called and said he had joined the Christ. Crying and he thanked me,” said Sharpstein, the lawyer for Taylor. It’s so sad and unnecessary. It was a tremendous individual, humble , a talented young man and he had his whole life ahead of him. Obviously God had other plans’
He added that Taylor died at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he had been helicopter shortly after the attack, on Monday morning.
Doctors had detected an encouraging sign, in the late afternoon on Monday, when Taylor shook his hand somewhat of a nurse who was at his bedside, according Vinny Cerrato, the vice president of football operations Redskins. But Sharpstein stressed he was told that Taylor had never regained consciousness after being taken to hospital.
“Perhaps tentait-il to say goodbye or something similar,” said Sharpstein.
Taylor was suffering from a shot in the upper leg, damaging an artery and caused significant bleeding.
“According to the preliminary investigation, it appears that the victim was hit by a bullet fired by an intruder in his home.”
But the police are still investigating the incident, which occurred eight days after another intrusion was reported at the home of Taylor
Sean Taylor was his fourth season with the Redskins after playing for the University of Miami.
His father, Pedro Taylor, is chief of police in the municipality of Florida City.
Sadness at the Redskins
Just hours after the death, a black banner was installed at the entrance of Redskins Park in Virginia, and No. 21 was painted in white and gold on the lawn outside the main entrance to the site training.
Coach Joe Gibbs has admitted that he never had to deal with a similar situation.
“We will all work together, moving forward together, and I think everyone here will have to respond to his personal way,” he said. I do not know how we will cope, except that we will to do it together. ”
The owner Dan Snyder announced that the team will honor Taylor with a shield bearing the number 21 on the helmets.
The guard Pete Kendall has confessed that it would be difficult to prepare for the clash on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
