Memory test: chimpanzees stronger than students!

Young chimps beat students during a memory test immediately reported researchers from the Japanese University of Kyoto.
Nine students and three young chimps and their mothers had to memorize the position of figures on a computer screen.
In tests more difficult, during which the figures appeared in 0.21 seconds on the screen, a chimpanzee than 5 years had a success rate of 80%, double the result for students.
All young chimpanzees have done better than humans, says the article published Monday in the scientific journal “Current Biology”.
“Many people naively believe that humans are the most intelligent creatures on this planet. I think this research shows very clearly that they are wrong,” said Tetsuro Matsuzawa, professor at the Institute for Research on primates at the university.
But humans should not despair, the test also found that most chimpanzees vieillissaient, more memory s’altérait. Chimpanzees older were less that candidates “human”.
