Colombia: Farc willing to exchange Betancourt Ingrid

The response from Farc plea by President Sarkozy for the release of Ingrid Betancourt was not expected. The Marxist guerrilla was ready to release the hostage franco-colombienne in exchange for the release of their combatants imprisoned by the Colombian authorities.
The Colombian President Uribe was recently excluded from the case on Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, self mediator. The prospect of the release of the hostages making bad, it is in this context that the call occurred to Farc the french president.
The Farc have quickly reacted to the advocacy of french president. In a statement issued yesterday on the Internet, they feel that “the french government’s intentions are good, laudable and healthy.”
But the Marxist rebels reject the unconditional release of Ingrid Betancourt: “An exchange is an exchange,” wrote. They reiterate a requirement that the government has rejected in the past: the withdrawal of government troops from two municipalities, for 45 days, to negotiate with the envoys Alvaro Uribe of a prisoner exchange.
But more than a prisoner exchange, what customers want Farc is a negotiating with the Colombian State to a peace process. The exchange of prisoners would be a first step.
